If Ajith Kumar had to gain the mass status in his career, half the credit would obviously go to Saran. Three massive hits like Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagaasam followed by an unexpected mediocre movie like Aasal. Director Saran is quite happy about his long pending release ‘Aayirathil Iruvar’ hitting screens today. Speaking during the promotional phase of his film, the director opens up about the reason behind Aasal not doing well. He cites particularly claiming that the audiences happened to expect a lot from the duo combo of Ajith Kumar-Saran for they had massive hits. But when it came to Aasal, Ajith Kumar actually wanted to get out of that routine zone with fewer dialogues more stylish. This turned out to be something out of the expectations for fans.
