When Vijay Sethupathi played a small role in Vennila Kabadi Kulu, he happened to meet Lenin Bharathi, director of Merku Thodar Chaalai, who worked as assistant to Suseenthiran. He had narrated this story to him during that time and Vijay Sethupathi had promised that he will definitely produce this film, when he gets success and money in the industry.
