The duo Vetrimaaran-Dhanush has proved its proficiencies significantly in their career graphs as filmmaker, actor and producers. While they make their comeback in their respective criteria after a long time through ‘Vada Chennai’, their joint venture production ‘Visaranai’, directed by Vetrimaaran has managed to win one more honours. Yes, having won incredible laurels at 72nd Venice Film Festival, the film is now getting screened at Indian Film Festival at Melbourne.
It is worth mentioning that the film is loosely based on the novel ‘Lock Up’ authored by M Chandrakumar, which happen to be his very own chronicle of suffering in police custody for the crime not committed by him. The feature him also managed to gain three National awards – Best Supporting actor for Samuthirakani, Late Kishore TE won Best Editor and Best Feature Film in Tamil.
