Ponniyin Selvan and Aranmanai 3 – A coincidental connection?

When the late director SP Jhananathan was shooting for one of his best movies ‘Purampokku’ in Binny Mills, Permbur, Mani Ratnam visited the sets for his ‘O Kadhal Kanmani’ works. Well, the central jail set in the same premise was transformed into Mumbai market for the film’s climax. But now, here’s more to the authenticity. For the first ever time, Sundar C’s Aranmanai franchise (Third Installment) moves into a real palace (The previous installments were shot in the set works). Coincidentally, it looks like Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan will have some of its sequences filmed in the same locations.

It is worth mentioning that only 30-40 days of shooting is pending for Ponniyin Selvan to wrap up.
