Oscars 2016 – Moments of inspirations and emotions

A dais that involved unexpected surprises and enthrallments, sometimes blend with shocking astonishments, where none expected that ‘Spotlight’ would just sweep away the most prestigious ‘Best Film’ awards in addition to its intrinsically value ‘Best Original Screenplay’. The most elegant moment of all was the inspiring speech by Leonardo DiCaprio as he walked up to collect ‘Best Actor Award’ for his much mind-boggling performance in lead actor for the film ‘The Revenant’. He was so much inspiring in his speech, where he said that Revenant is a film about man’s connection with environment and that the world is at a risky scenario, where the climatic changes are happening and immediate action is required. Each and every men and women on this planet must ensure that things are happy and safety for their children’s children.

The Revenant won three awards out of 12 nominations that include Best Actor, Best director – Alejandra Gonzalez and Best Cinematography. Mad Max swept majority of awards on the technical front with six wins. It was slightly disappointing to see that The Martian didn’t gain any awards out of 7 nominations. Spotlight that is based on the true incident of media involved over the Vatican conspiracies of paedophile issues took home with couple of wins including ‘Best Film’ and ‘Best original screenplay’.

Brie Larson was emotionally overwhelming with incredible joy over bagging the ‘Best Actress Award’ for her much acclaimed performance in ‘The Room’.

Mark Rylance carried home the ‘Best Supporting Male’ award for an intriguing performance that overshadowed the lead actors in ‘Bridge of Spies’.

Alicia Vikander bagged ‘Best Supporting Actress’ in ‘The Danish Girl’ beating hands down among the tough contenders like Kate Winslet in ‘Steve Jobs’ and Rooney Mara in Carol.

With Alejandro G. Inarritu’s Oscar win tonight as Best Director for The Revenant,the director became part of Academy history by becoming the first director in 65 years to win back-to-back directing Oscars. Interestingly Revenant cinematographer, Emmanuel Chivo Lubezki has become the first one to win Oscars three years in a row (Gravity,Birdman and The Revenant).
