Balaji Tharaneetharan clarifies on Vijay Sethupathi’s role in Seethakaathi

Filmmaker Balaji Tharaneetharan is quite excited teaming up with Vijay Sethupathi for the second time after a long hiatus. The expectations involving Seethakaathi has already rocketed to pinnacle and there are curious investigations happening if Vijay Sethupathi plays lead roles. Talking about this, Balaji says, “It is about a scholar-patron of poets and a philanthropist in Tamil Nadu in the 18th-century.  About him, there is still a popular saying – ‘Sethum Koduthan Seethakaathi’! This saying has a connection with the film. I was inspired to go ahead with this after seeing a Tamil Play.

Vijay Sethupathi is doing a single role only and we travelled to Los Angeles to meet Oscar winner Kevin Hamey for getting a new look for him. Of course, has done a phenomenal job! Vijay Sethupathi cooperated – by being the first to arrive and the last to leave on the shooting spot. The well-known orator J. Krishnamurthy and an ancient North American tribe were the backgrounds for the final make-up!
