Unpaused Movie Review
The boom of OTT platforms came with an array of anthology based films and 2020 did witness a heavy rush of this genre with some of them sticking to the current pandemic scenario. Well, Amazon Prime Video had even attempted the same with the first-ever Tamil anthology original, which made no sense despite having the biggest names. Well, it eventually kept us little doubtful whether its new outing ‘Unpaused’ yet another movie from the same league in Hindi would engross us. The result is pretty much out of what we perceive and it’s indeed a good show. The creators of the film have delved into the actual crisis and emotions tagged to it. In this manner, we can earnestly appreciate the filmmakers – Raj & DK, Nikkhil Advani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Avinash Arun and Nitya Mehra for a spellbinding piece of creation. All the stories have the significance of letting us reflect in one way or the other. It takes us through the walks of every segment of society and family that was impacted during this crisis. Getting on with the performances, we find that almost all the actors have exerted an impeccably decorous performance. If you still need to cherry-pick, it would be obviously Gulshan Devaiah, Saiyami Kher, Ratan Pathak Shah, Shardhul Bharadwaj.
As with the technical quotient, the musical part is commendable. We don’t hear them outdoing anywhere, but stands out to be a perfect accompaniment to all tales in a mild manner. So is cinematography that actually becomes a character.
As on whole, Unpaused is a decent attempt by Amazon Prime Video and it is far-better than what it had served Tamil audiences a couple of months through ‘Puththam Pudhu Kaalai’, which in no way dealt with the pandemic crisis.
