Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum Movie Review

Director Vignesh Sha’s Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum features Mirchi Shiva, Megha Akash and Anju Kurian in the lead roles. The film features musical score by Leon James, which has a star cast comprising Ma Ka Pa, Singer Mano, KPY Bala, Sha Ra and few more prominent actors.

When a food delivery boy named Shankar (Mirchi Shiva), gets a super intelligent AI phone that completely has the emotions of a girl (Megha Akash), he feels fortunate and heavenly, only to realize later that it’s not a boon, but a bane.

First and foremost, the entire film looks like a short film content. Nothing to blame the story as it has some captivating elements that resonates the reality of funny ‘Single Pasanga-Morattu Single’ league of guys out there. However, everything looks predictable after a certain point of time (The director tries to make up for the ‘Endhiran’ inspiration, by referring the same quotes here). There is a particular scene in the film involving Mirchi Shiva, Mano and Ma Ka Pa Anand (Released as sneak peek). If the director was able to come up with 4-5 such sequences, the film would have been an excellent hilarious entertainer.

Anju Kurian tries to do what is required from her role. Megha Akash as AI girl has nothing to perform. Ma Ka Pa Anand is a real talent, and hope the directors make use of him very well. He has the ability to deliver emotions in various roles. Not to miss the presence of Mirchi Shiva, who doesn’t fail to evoke laughter with his witty liners…

Overall, Single Shankarum Smartphone Simranum has a good content that has potential to engross audiences, but with a better screenwriting and a few more interesting scenes would have made it a laughter-riot entertainer.
