Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam Movie Review
Actor turned director Dhanush has been constantly experimenting with unique stories. While his Directorial debut Pa Pandi touched the zones of pure poetic love in late 60s, his immediate next titled ‘Raayan’ proved to be an action-packed commerical entertainer. His latest outing Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam they is scheduled for release tomorrow (February 21), is a feel-good Rom-Com featuring an ensemble star cast of young actors.
Well, the plot of this film is very much familiar to the audience from the visual promos. The film deals with the contemporary take on love and relationship existing between the current generation. While the story through its initial phase might look like an ordinary one, but what works out in places are witty and hilarious moments created by Dhanush.
While the first half might be laced with passable moments, Dhanush has taken the Hollywood rom com route by making sure that the second half, especially last 30 mins are laced with humorous quotients and emotional aspects.
When it comes to performances, all the actors have tried giving their best. Actor Pavish as the protagonist Prabhu is okay and in many places, he resembles Dhanush. However, who adds more intrigue to the film is actor Mathew Thomas, who delivers a hilarious acting. Both these actors together ensure a laughter riot in many places. Not to miss the funny dance that brings up uncalled for laughter. Anikha is just okay and doesn’t sparkle much. The other actresses Indhuja and Priya Prakash Warrier get good scope to perform. Sarnaya Ponnvannan is good with her portions and Sarath Kumar is fine and entertaining although he gets a minimal appearance.
Technically, GV Prakash Kumar has shined very well with his background score more than songs. Especially the song Golden Sparrow is the only cherry pick and then it’s BGM.
On the flip side, we get to see that there are few dull moments, but then the fun filled moments add to the enjoyable quotient
Overall, NEEK is an okayish kind of movie that is pasabale in parts
