Kavan Music Review
Aftermath the success of KO, KV Anand is back with yet another media based thriller, this time it involves backdrops of corporate world. The film is produced by AGS Entertainment and the album is composed by Hip Hop Tamizha. Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna Sebastian alongside T Rajendar have played lead roles in this movie.
01. Happy New Year
Singers: T. Rajendar, Hip Hop Tamizha, Madonna Sebastian
Lyrics: Arunraja Kamaraj
The song has already achieved a pretty good reception from time of New Year eve, it was launched as a single track. It has every element to emblazon the celebrations. Be it the musical strength over the prelude and interludes with the singers making it more appealing. Of course, when you have the veteran singer like T Rajendar, there’s going to be plethora of amusement and this song is no exception.
02. Oxygen
Singers: Hip Hop Tamizha, Sudarshan Ashok
Lyrics: Kabilan Vairamuthu
After you listen the song for several times, you tend to get slightly likeable towards it. But Hip Hop Tamizha should have passed on the song to some other singers to make it more appealing. His voice is so monotonous that every fast-beat number and melodious ones get the same treatment. If Hip Hop Aadhi could take this into consideration, even his composing would get some additional benefit rather than sounding stereotypical.
03. Mathurangalam
Singers: Kaber Vasuki and Kids Chorus
Lyrics: Kabilan Vairamuthu
To be precise, there is nothing really special about this song. If you’re listening to this number for more than three times for an incisive verdict, you don’t get anything out of there for appreciating it. Maybe, it could go on and on with time to prove its style. Perhaps, if there is something like a visual prominence with the placement including some humour from Vijay Sethupathi or relatively a drama of that sort, we could grasp something upon this song. But there is a long way left for it.
04. Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai
Singers: Hip Hop Tamizha, Padmalatha, Anthony Dasan, Georgina Mathew
Lyrics: Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar
Instantly, this song becomes your favourite for the first time you hear it. Hip Hop Tamizha always known for his respect and reverence of Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathiyar manages to bring up a good fusion like music that has best composing. Even the signers have their best intonation. The interludes are extraordinarily done. This will definitely have a blast of celebration in theatres, especially if T Rajendar is shaking legs along with Vijay Sethupathi.
05. Boomerang
Singers: Hip Hop Tamizha, Nikita Gandhi, Vel Murugan, Kaushik Krish
Lyrics: Kabilan Vairamuthu
Finally, we get to hear this song titled ‘Boomerang’ that has vague composing in terms of rhythmic accompaniment and rending style too. This sound like a night party discotheque number, where a DJ would jar up with noisy and foot-tapping number out there. But we shall wait and see how it fits with the visuals. The singers are pretty commendable with their portions, but the musical quotients dominate a lot out there.
On the whole, ‘Kavan’ has couple of songs – Happy New Year and Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai instantly become your favourite picks while rest of the numbers will have to struggle up and get its best dues. Maybe, with the producers going for constant promotions, there are chances for the other numbers to make it to a certain level of decent reception.
