Keshava is the third outing for the director Sudheer and he don’t want to come out of the crime plot like his previous outings and this time join hands with nikhil in the lead.
Its a story of a law college student who take a revenge against murderers whom they killed his family. How he completes the mission despite the eyes of police who also in the investigation is keshava about!
In crime thriller generation, you can present the sequence from viewers point or the characters in the film. When movie presented at viewers angle, you know all the cause and knots already, only thing is how they catch the antagonist whereas in the character angle, you never know the knot till the end.
we have seen many movies at character angle and its usually have one flashback portions to untie the knot at the end but this one takes the other route where movie starts with a flashback which becomes the prime reason for this revenge and how the lead murder everyone involved in the crime scene is presented using the screenplay magic to engage till the end.
When special police force in full swing, at one point, police cross the line of the lead but still murder continues with a twist at the end which becomes the high light of second half.
Movie also has college portions, a little romance, comedy which are minimal in parallel with the revenge track.
Nikhil, completely owns the movie with his neat performance but lacks a little in expression as he has subtle looks all over the place. Isha koppikar comeback has powerful scope to act and she does it with a style.
BGM is another plus for the movie with a adrenaline music which adds fuel and the songs too at the right place be it melody or montage, good to hear. Cameras are always on the top and looks visually good throughout. For a thriller, editing place a major role and here it has done with neat cuts with little rush towards the end.
Movie splits into chapters like a novel and a murder in each chapter is captivating.
On the flip side, murders happen just like that without any detailing or plan and one can easily says its cinematic. In bus investigation scene, when isha miss nikhil at first sight though she suspect on him already is too flat, in another scene when nikhil in one of the murder enters the police officer residence so easily and plan the murder thereafter is flimsy.
With a simple story in hand which backs completely on the screenplay and technical department and yet engages fully is not an easy thing ofcourse.
