Debut filmmaker Shivaraj has penned script, wielded megaphone and has handled cinematography for this simplistic love story titled Kadhal Kan Kattuthe. The film has newcomers KG, Aneeruth and Athulya in lead roles, which is based on the complications involved over the relationships of contemporary generation.
The film is set against a very simple background of KG and Atulya, who bounce upon each other during their college life.
The film is set against a very simple background of KG and Atulya, who bounce upon each other during their college life. They have mutual attraction for each other and that gradually blossoms into a romantic relationship. Soon after the graduation, Atulya gets her job as journalist in a different city and moves out there. In the workplace, she gets friendly with a photo journalist (Aneeruth), who develops a special interest upon her. As KG gets to know about the friendly gesture of Atulya and hidden interest of Aneeruth, there happens to be a kind of misunderstanding and drift in relationship. Will this young ones sort out their indifferences or Aneeruth would take advantage of this situation to win her is basic premise of this story.
Although the basic concept and theme is good, the narration slightly falls down the line with sluggish moments
Director Shivaraj tries to reflect the current topic that has been adhered to urbanization, where the relationship issues are often bounded to misunderstandings and possessiveness. He doesn’t let go the script with unwanted entertainment elements, but sticks to what is required for the film. In fact, there is a neat message conveyed through the film that happiness comes with true love and understanding about life and not in material gains. Although the basic concept and theme is good, the narration slightly falls down the line with sluggish moments. There are few amateur moments in the film and when it comes to technical zone, the film completely lacks the commendable work.
Atulya captures the show with her simple cute looks and her expressions too appreciable. KG and Aneeruth have tried living up to the expectations of the characters.
With yet more enthralling moments in the screenplay and strong technical work, the film would have been better, but for now it remains to be a middling one.
