Pruthvi Ambaar

Pruthvi Ambaar is an Indian actor known for his work in the Kannada and Tulu film industries. Pruthvi started his career as a radio jockey in Mangaluru, known as RJ Nagaraj, before transitioning into the film industry. His initial foray into cinema was through short films where he both directed and acted.

He made his big-screen debut with the Tulu film “Barke” in 2014, which was followed by a lead role in “Pilibail Yamunakka” the same year, directed by K Sooraj Shetty. His performance in the Kannada film “Dia” (2020) significantly boosted his recognition, earning him nominations and awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role. This film was a turning point, showcasing his ability to handle complex characters.

Pruthvi has been praised for his willingness to experiment with roles, moving from romantic leads to more action-oriented or dramatic characters. His role in “Matsyagandha” as a police officer was noted for its realism and departure from his earlier romantic roles, indicating his interest in diverse character portrayals.

He married Parul Shukla on November 3, 2019, in Mangalore, with many from the Tulu film industry in attendance.
