Obeli N Krishna
Directing
Obeli N. Krishna, also known as Krishna and N. Krishna, is a prominent figure in the Tamil film industry, renowned for his directorial and screenwriting prowess. His journey in cinema began under the mentorship of Gautham Vasudev Menon, contributing as an associate director for films like “Minnale” and its Hindi counterpart “Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein,” as well as co-directing “Kaakha Kaakha” and its Telugu remake “Gharshana.” Krishna’s directorial debut came with the 2006 romantic drama “Sillunu Oru Kaadhal,” featuring Suriya and Jyothika in lead roles, which coincided with the couple’s real-life marriage.
Despite facing setbacks, such as the unreleased “Yen Ippadi Mayakkinai” due to the production company’s bankruptcy, Krishna persevered and returned with “Nedunchaalai” in 2014, a period drama set in the 1980s that garnered critical and commercial success. His recent work includes “Pathu Thala,” a commercial blockbuster, and there are rumors of an exciting new project, possibly a sequel to his debut film, under the banner of Prince Pictures.
