Why Silambarasan’s Maanaadu has issues for Eid release?
As soon as the release of Eeswaran happened, actor Silambarasan was vigorously shooting for his next movie ‘Maanaadu’. Written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film is produced by Suresh Kamatchi. As everyone, the film went through lots of hurdles during its preproduction phase, where it started, dropped and on the day of commencement, the COVID-19 issues thwarted the production plans. Apparently, STR came back in form with more energy while shooting for the film now. He didn’t prefer a single day break. Even for his birthday, it was Venkat Prabhu, who suggested for a small break to promote his Disney+ Hotstar VIP series ‘Live Telecast’.
Actor Silambarasan was very keen on completing the film’s shoot by end of March followed by one month postproduction work and then theatrical release on May 13, 2021 for the festive occasion of Eid. However, with the second wave of COVID-19 threats and rise in cases, the final schedule had to face some issues. The final schedule involves a lot of crowds and major sequences would be filmed there. So, the makers mutually decided to carefully plan and execute this particular schedule. Henceforth, the release date might get slightly pushed to June 2021.
