Sam CS’ biggest birthday delight from Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja usually doesn’t prefer rendering his voice for other musicians’ composing. Last time, we heard him sing was for D Imman’s 100th album – Tik Tik Tik. Apparently, Sam CS, who hasn’t even completed 10 albums on the row got a surprise node. Yes, the music director rendering his voice for a romantic solo in ‘Vanjagar Ulagam’ happens to be the talk of town. Sam CS says that soon after completing the tunes, he was in need of a voice that would have a naturalistic appeal. “Of course, I couldn’t run through any names other than Yuvan Shankar Raja. Even before entering into music as profession, I was greatly wowed by the musical spell of Ilayaraja and AR Rahman sirs. But then, Yuvan had his own magic of having uniqueness that attracted many. When I approached him for Vanjagar Ulagam song titled ‘Theeyaazhini’ written by Madan Karky, he immediately said, “Yes.” We recorded this song by morning 3 a.m. saved money and he did make it happen within an hour,” says Sam CS.
