Producer G Dhananjayan slams ‘Cobra’ fame director Ajay Gnanamuthu?
Filmmaker Ajay Gnanamuthu, a former associate of director AR Murugadoss made his directorial debut through the movie Demonte Colony, and later made the movie ‘Imaikka Nodigal’. His third outing ‘Cobra’ featuring Vikram in the lead role had musical score by AR Rahman. The movie is produced by Lalith Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. The movie, released yesterday has succumbed to negative reviews and has been harshly criticized by both critics and general audiences for the lengthy screenplay. Even before the release of the movie, it was said that Ajay Gnanamuthu and his team didn’t let producer Lalith Kumar to interfere in the creative process, and despite his request, didn’t complete the project on time. Finally, with the negative reviews flooding out, many have been criticizing Ajay’s blunder.
During this juncture, producer G Dhananjayan, one of the reputed producers in the Tamil movie industry posted a strong statement on his social media page citing that directors should give some respect to the producers as it is a creative process and can be properly executed only with the team work.
Although, he didn’t directly mention any name, it is claimed that he was upset with a producer’s state being disturbed due to the unprofessional ethics of a director.
