Kamal Haasan’s prestigious moment of ‘Chevalier’
It’s so much of colossal pride for every Indian film buff and following the greater footprints of Sathyajit Ray and Sivaji Ganesan, it’s Kamal Haasan being conferred as the Chevalier de L’Ordre et Lettres’ by French Government, which means in English – The Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Very much elated about this greatest accomplishment of honours, Kamal Haasan in his voice message to all his fans and followers conveyed his humbleness bounded to glee. “Maybe, my parents are not here to see their son achieve this moment, but am happy to see that my elders, masters and young people in the family are out there to experience their elation. I am so much in bow towards the greatest icons like Sathyajit Ray and Sivaji Ganesan, who have been setting the high standards of greatest examples of making the prominence of Chevalier well known even to the common lay men and women out there. This kind gesture of conferring me the title ‘Chevalier’ by French Government is pushing me ahead to go and achieve something more in my passion of films. Rather than feeling prideful, I feel more humble at this moment and I thank Mr. Alexandre Ziegler, the Ambassador of France in India for placing my name out there for this consideration of honours,” said Kamal Haasan.
