Maniratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan has been the talk of town ever since, there has been buzzing sounds about it. Already, we had published news citing that Vijay Sethupathi was initially supposed to be a part of this film, but couldn’t sign on dotted lines due to some reasons. Recently, there were some news claiming that the star-cast comprises of Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.

According to the confidential sources, it’s only Karthi and Jayam Ravi confirmed for now and there isn’t any news about Vikram being a part of it. It’s noteworthy that Vikram is working on another Pan-Indian mythology based film titled ‘Karnan’. Right now, Maniratnam has written dialogues and story apart from producing a film titled ‘Vaanam Kottattum’ directed by his long time associate Dhana.
