Is Sibiraj’s Vattam loosely based on Lokesh Kanagaraj’s movie?

Producers SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu, the close relatives of actor Suriya-Karthi have been producing the movies under a couple of production houses namely – Potential Studios and Dream Warrior Pictures. Their recent release ‘O2’ starring Nayanthara, streamed on Disney+ Hotstar bombed terribly. Apparently, they are looking out for a good breakthrough now. They are yet again collaborating with Disney+ Hotstar with Sibiraj’s ‘Vattam’, which will be directly premiering on this OTT platform.

Meanwhile, the close sources reveal that Vattam could be faintly replicating Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Maanagaram. The hyperlink based story was about a bunch of characters getting involved in one or the other way during a short period. Significantly, Vattam too is reported of having a similar backdrop and what’s more common between these two movies is a Kidnap element.

It is noteworthy that the same producers had produced Maanagaram too. Let us wait and watch out for how identical are these two movies.
