Green signal for Sundar C’s Sangamithra?

Sangamithra happens to be a much prestigious project that the entire Tamil film industry has been consciously looking upon. Filmmaker Sundar C had to kick-start this shooting before a year, which was supposedly to be produced by Sri Thenandal Films. Nonetheless, the film wasn’t able to proceed with the shooting after its grand launch at Cannes International Film Festival. Apparently, it is now learnt that Sundar C is planning to commence the shooting of this period film in August. Jayam Ravi and Arya are playing lead roles alongside Disha Patani. Touted to be a period film against the fictional backdrops, the film has musical score by AR Rahman. It is said that the entire film revolves around a female protagonist, who travels across different places to unite all kingdoms for a cause.

Initially, Shruthi Haasan was supposed to be the female lead role, but she walked out due to some creative difference of opinions.
