Following Cobra & VTK, Kalaipuli S Thanu’s strict order to Naane Varuvean team
In recent times, Tamil cinema has been facing a lot of issues regarding the last-minute rush. To put it in simple terms, director Ajay Gnanamuthu kept working on CG and other works till the last minute before release, which caused huge trouble for the film’s producer. What’s more shocking is that Sreenidhi Shetty completed dubbing the Kannada version on the previous day to release. On the other hand, the Silambarasan TR starrer ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ Telugu version got released only a day after the release of the Tamil version. With producers losing their control over their respective projects, producer Kalaipuli S Thanu has insisted director Selvaraghavan and the entire team of Naane Varuvean hand over the final copy with whatever CG work is done by today (September 24, 2022) and upload it for theatrical release purpose in advance following which the crew can continue to work on CG and other PP works. In case of the work gets delayed, this version will be used for release. By doing so, the last-minute rush, and the possibility of early morning shows getting canceled can be avoided.
This is one of the most appreciable breakthroughs in Tamil cinema, where a producer has taken control of his project. This should be a blueprint for other producers, who shouldn’t let their projects go astray and directionless in the name of a prolonged creative process.
