‘Stunt’ Silva is the man behind the stunning action sequences of Mangatha, Veeram and now Yennai Arindhaal. We were so urged to get to know the chemistry between him and Thala Ajith. When we dialed his numbers we heard a beautiful melody song as a ringtone. Fraction of second we had a doubt and checked. Silva master answered “Hello, how are you?” as clearing the doubts on air. We started to shoot him the questions. Expected a tensed, action packed replies but Silva master was so calm and smilingly answered for all the questions.
You are doing ‘Thala’ films consecutively… Is it designed or destiny.
“Am clueless” he quipped. “ It is more likely a destiny. Director Venkat Prabhu introduced me to Ajith sir in Mankatha, my first film for Thala. The stunt sequences got some good names. Then Director Shiva got me into Veeram, The train fight got raving responses from every corner. I have worked with Gautham Menon in his last four projects. So he wanted the combo to continue. Adding to this, Ajith sir likes me very much.”
Special stunt sequences in Yennai Arindhaal like Train sequence in Veeram?
“All the stunts were shot live. We have tried to create a mess like a real fight. It will not be fair enough to reveal all the things before release “ he escaped
On insisting he revealed few more things “Thala always has a habit of getting us tensed by taking some ruthless risks. In one of the stunt sequences we were requesting him to use regular glass panes that is used for stunt purposes but He broke a real glass with bare head.
We were able to spot you in the Trailer of the film. Tell us about your role…!!!
He laughed “you getting me into trap . It’s a very small role. Gautham sir wanted me to act and I did it. It is a small role.
Every Stunt master has their own signature. What is your signature stunt movement
“I don’t believe in getting name for special moves, script is important for me. I always keen in getting the moves and action blocks that doesn’t breach the limitations of the script. I always design the stunts for the characters involved and their behaviour in the script. I wish to continue the same.

Hollywood Stunt artist working in Tamil cinema…
It’s a healthy thing actually a learning for all stunt artist here. They are very conscious about safety precautions. The pre-planning they make for a stunt is tremendous. Every frame would be clearly executed as what they have written in paper. They always wonder about our style of work, on-spot planning and execution. Our stunt artists also work in Hollywood, Bollywood without any hindrances.
