Interview with Sam CS about Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum

If there is one name that initiates energy among the music loving audience it is the name of C.S Sam the music director. He has been rapidly growing as a brand in the Tamil film circle and it is all set to grow big with “Ispade Rajavum  Idhaya Raniyum” which is slated for a release on 15th March. The music director excited on the huge popularity his music has gained in “Ispade Rajavum idhaya Raniyum” says with pride

I have learnt from Ilaiyaraaja sir, where one should not place a song or a background score. I have used live instruments for all the songs and the background score to get the organic feel

“Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum” is my second film with Director Ranjit Jeyakodi after Mellisai. This is the first time I’m working in an out and out Love film. In my previous films, Love will only be a segment of the story and the story revolves around many shades simultaneously. There is more scope for music as the  fulcrum of the script is Love. The love  stories generally gives more importance to songs. I am overwhelmed to have received such massive compliments about the album from the public. Anirudh has sung the Kannamma song which now tops the No. 1 position in the Air play list. I have already worked with Anirudh in Yaanji song for Vikram Vedha. The entire tone of the song transforms after he sings it, likewise in this song, his voice has given an altogether fresh appeal. Though we listen to western songs, we will always have that everlasting love for folk, so we tried to induce it and I am really delighted to know that it has worked out well. I’m an ardent follower of Ilaiyaraaja Sir, and this movie will also have references of Mouna Ragam in terms of placement. Generally a love film will have a few conditions as to when and where a song should be placed, but in “Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum”, we have crooned music for the intuitions of the characters. Whatever the character could not express verbally, we have tried conveying it through music which was a very challenging task. One of the most important things that I have learnt from Ilaiyaraaja sir is where one should not place a song or a background score. I have used live instruments for all the songs and the background score to get the organic feel. I hope this film will be a milestone in my Career. I have a good rapport with Ranjit Jeyakodi as we think alike. He will listen to the music first and then compose the scenes accordingly. I wish to do a lot more films with him in the near future, as we get along easily and understand each other’s needs perfectly. The Cinematographer has hauled up the film to a different level. When I first met him, I honestly thought that he was an Assistant Director. He is just 22 years old but his work speaks louder. I really wish he reaches great heights in future. Everyone would have come across the love period in life, this film will definitely make you empathize with the characters. To all those who have fell in love once, who are in love now, who will fall in love later at a point in life, this film is for you people. I hope you enjoy it with your loved ones. Harish Kalyan had done magic to his role . I am extremely delighted to see this film cornering attention from any where and every where” says music director Sam with charm.
