Thalapathy Vijay’s Bigil – The night show of Bigil on second day at a leading theater in Chennai was canceled due to unexpected shortage in footfalls due to heavy rain.
Ajith Kumar’s Vedalam – It was the only film to tackle all the odds of heavy rainfall, and turned out to be a massive hit. Even the Government had announced holidays due to the exceedingly huge downpour, the audiences thronged at the theaters for this film, even on 25th day.
Suriya’s Aaru – This was long way back, and this movie set a huge record of witnessing heavy crowds to the theaters despite major rainfall playing a havoc. It is worth mentioning that actor Suriya had released a special video of expressing his personal thanks to all the people of Tamil Nadu for showing up at the theaters inspite of downpour.
Silambarasan’s Maanaadu – The first day first show of the film itself was cancelled, and it opened later around 8 A.M., where major parts of the Chennai city and other places were flooded, and it continued for many days. Still, the film managed to shoot up its box office collection with crowds arriving in huge numbers to the theatres.
