Oppam:
The successful combination of Mohanlal and Priyadarshan has churned out many blockbusters and spellbinding movies. Their comeback together with ‘Oppam’ was even more a genius tale, where we were moved to the edge of seats. Such a brilliant script that was narrated with unpredictable twists and turns. More than all, it was Mohanlal, who made a breakthrough performance.
Jacobinte Swargarajyam:
This happens to be the second consecutive hit for Nivin Pauly in 2016. The whole movie was an emotional experience, where the tale was based on true story. Each and every actor made a stunning performance that remains close to our hearts even after the show.
Kammatti Padam:
A raw and rustic film that Malayalam cinema hadn’t seen for years! A substantial and stark bold theme, which had a running length of 3hrs, but audiences nowhere felt the dragging or sluggish moments. So much of impactful moments that involves friendship, betrayals, revenge and love. Dulquer Salman left everyone awestruck with his immediate transformation from O Kadhal Kanmani to Charlie followed by Kali and then Kammatti Padam, where we saw him in different age looks.
Maheshinte Prathikaram:
It’s hard to keep you engrossed with a simple tale, where narrating this tale wouldn’t take more than a line or two, but the way it was presented was so beautiful, especially the natural backdrops that took us through a journey in Idukki as the title song adorned. Fahadh Faasil and Aparna Balakrishnan made a blissful performance in the film too.
Action Hero Biju:
This happens to be 25th film of Nivin Pauly and there is something more special about the film. Major portions of the story happen inside the backdrops of a police station, where we get to see that the cops aren’t involved in just one case investigation, but have encounters with different characters that brings up humour, emotions and painful moments too. It’s a justified dedication to every police officer.
