Mr. House Keeping Movie Review

Arun Ravichandran’s directorial ‘Mr. House Keeping’ features Youtuber Hari Bhaskar, Bigg Boss fame Losliya & Rayan in the lead roles. The film is a Rom-Com revolving around the contemporary take on romance and relationship.

Hari Bhaskar is seen as a good-for-nothing student in an Engineering College, who vows to win the heart of his classmate Losliya. He keeps annoying her for the entire academic years, and doesn’t get her attention. Years later, to meet his financial needs, Hari takes up the housecleaning job, and finds himself landing at Losliya’s house itself. Both of them develop a friendly (Besties) bond, and then, he gets to know that Losliya is already in relationship with her colleague (Rayan). Both these men start confronting each other for this girl, and what unfolds next is a chain of events.

Much alike any other young filmmakers, especially the first timers, who come up with a good story, Arun Ravichandran tries to deliver a similar attempt, but ‘screenplay’ becomes the biggest disaster here. Almost the entire portion of the film is laced with amateur moments, and there’s no link between a particular scene to the next in many occasions. It looks like Hari Bhaskar is still carrying his YouTube channel shades here, with his acting that nowhere suits the big screen. Well, we don’t mean to criticise in a bad light, but still, he can develop his own style of performance, rather than imitating other actors. Losliya’s appearance is little feeble, and she looks so tiresome throughout the film. However, her performance is commendable. Hope she gets a meaty role to perform in many films. Rayan has a good screen presence, and his role is okay. Ilavarasu and Uma as Hari’s parents deliver a naturalistic performance is good.

Technically, musical score by Osho Venkat turns out to be a big minus. Neither songs nor the background score is laudable. Cinematography is good.

On the whole, ‘Mr. House Keeping’ doesn’t have a convincing screenplay and it keeps testing our patiences in many places.
