Dagaalty Movie Review
With Santhanam’s last year release ‘Dhillukku Dhuddu 2’ and ‘A1’ winning the box office show with laudable entertainment, we were filled with lots of promising expectations about ‘Dagaalty’, which is getting released worldwide today (January 31). However, what we get by end of show is walking out with irksome thoughts and huge disappointments. The film doesn’t engage you anywhere, even for 5 minutes. When we saw Santhanam and Yogi Babu together in the visual promos, we were pretty much assured that there’s going to be a roller coaster laughter riot. In fact, the makers had released a sneak peek, which proved to be a good sample. Nonetheless, while watching the movie we realize that the visual content is from the climax portion, which alone is the only engrossing moment in the movie and rest of 2 hours is a total disaster.
Santhanam movies irrespective of what the storyline or genre is would offer us some laughter. In contrast, this film lacks it completely and we have to desperately wait for it. One more factor in Santhanam movies is that heroines are always portrayed as ‘Loose Ponnu’, which he can slightly avoid. They are shown as Pudden-headed, but voluptuous, where the mindset of makers is to make the ‘Boys’ in cinema halls will have something to be wooed. We are sorry to say! There can be glamour, but without any concept or proper storyline, it’s totally a waste.
On the whole, Dagaalty is a huge-huge disappointment. Except for the final scene, where all the characters come together with the cameo appearance of Brahmandham, there is nothing to take back home.
