Q: What made you accept Thanga Magan?
A: Last year, I made a conscious decision to do quality movies in which I have author backed roles. Thanga Magan offered me an out of the box role and I got an opportunity to work with a fine Actor like Dhanush. So I grabbed the opportunity to work in the movie.
Q: Can you elaborate more about your role.
A: It’s a role which required a restrained performance from me. It was a learning experience for me to do this role. Family audience will love my character.
Q: How was it working with an accomplished Actor like Dhanush?
A: He is extremely talented. He is very knowledgeable about every aspect of film making. I am lucky to do back-to-movies with him. After Thanga Magan, I will be doing Vada Chennai with him for Director Vetri Maran. And also one more movie with him. He makes sure you up your game to be on-par with him. He is an Acting school.
Q: Amy Jackson had lot of good things to say about you. What can you tell us about her?
A: She is the best female co-star I have worked with. She is very hard working. It’s amazing to see how she prepares and gets lines in Tamil right. We mutually respect each other’s space. Happy to work with her in Theri also.
Q: Anirudh scored music for Kaththi and now Thanga Magan.
A: Anirudh is a musical genius. He is a prodigy. Gold has blessed him with so much talent. He has given his best to Thanga Magan album. “Oh… Oh…” and “Enna Solla…” are my favorite songs in the album.
