Purampokku progress in top gear

After the last directorial venture “Peranmai”, Jananathan comes again with a title “Purampokku” which has the lead cast of Arya, Vijay Sethupathy, Shaam & Karthika which already gives much expectation. Now the project kick started again in full swing and here the highlights about it.

• The film would be a political action thriller revolves around the relevance of capital punishment in a democratic and free society

• Name of the lead characters were chosen from the Indian History

• Arya is named as Balu who was a real legend, born in Madurai and lived in Andhra as a cop later

• Karthika is named after Kuyili lieutenant of Velu Nachiyar, a freedom fighter

• Shaam was named Macualy who designed the education system and punishment rules of the British regime

• Vijay Sethupathi is named Yamalingam, an absolute brat of a character.

• A huge prison set was erected in Chennai by the Art director Selvakumar

• Kathika has a powerful role with action-packed one where she would perform her stunt sequences herself.
