Did Suriya intervene into Selvaraghavan’s NGK script?
It happens that when a film works out well in box office, there is a huge raving of praises across all the centres. However, when it fails to impress the mass crowds, the only good thing that we can expect is either a paid YouTuber doing video promotions of ‘Dissecting the film’ or ‘Break Down’. It has happened very much with Thyagarajan Kumararaja’s ‘Super Deluxe’ and now Selvaraghavan’s NGK. Despites the filmmaker tweeting that there are lots of layers added to the characterization of Suriya, the audiences have failed to connect with the film.
Okay! Let us not get back into the analysis for Studio Flicks has already presented you the review. Now the biggest buzz is that there is no fault on Selvaraghavan, but Suriya’s side. It is said that Selvaraghavan’s initial idea was showcasing the characterization of Suriya in depth of how an organic farmer becomes a chief minister. In fact, there were so many scenes involving the current issues of agriculture. It is worth mentioning that the shoot of this film was prolonged for many reasons, especially for the Kollywood Strike. But the major hurdle for Selvaraghavan was the grand success of ‘Kadaikutty Singam’, starring Suriya’s younger brother Karthi in lead role. It happened that Suriya wanted to modify the script as his brother had won claps in the theatre. Apparently, this led to the change of script, especially the characterization of Suriya looking too feeble.
This is something the close sources have been discussing and we aren’t advocating for anyone.
