Karky revels over his romantic ‘Idhayane’ in Velaikkaran

Lyricist Madhan Karky is noted for his different and unique approach in writing lyrics – every aspect – the selection of words, the novelty of the idea, etc., are outstanding – for example –

You adorned the gist of my youth! You drew my night with the stokes of dawn! Lies disappears and truth dawns!

The great lyricist achieves in bringing out the song’s soul only when he uses figurative analogies. Madhan Karky is a notable lyricist in this aspect – especially in love songs!

The way he looks for some new words, the way he structures the lyric lines, etc., capture the arresting the attention of the listeners.

One recent example – the song ‘Idhayane’ from the film Velaikkaran with Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara! – This song has become a raging hit! It is always a challenge to write romantic songs. The lines of the lyric should be simple yet should attract the listener.

The song Idhayane explains the situation when two souls explore the depth of true love when lyrics start flowing. The lyric has to underline the main theme that only one light (figuratively – truth) is there, the darkness will go away (figuratively, lie and negative matters).
