Vijayakanth’s long-time friend and popular producer Ibrahim Rowther breathed his last today morning (July 22nd) at a private hospital in Chennai. He was suffering from age-related ailments and kidney problems.

He almost lost half of his body weight in the past few weeks. While his friends and family were planning to take him to Singapore for better treatment, his demise has come as a shock to everyone in the film industry.

Ibrahim was instrumental in flourishing Vijayakanth’s career in his formative years. He was the main reason behind Vijayakanth’s popularity in B and C centers since he made sure that his films reached every nook and corner of Tamil Nadu.
