Oscar-winning film Birdman directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu was most discussed film in Hollywood last year for its subtle layers, emotions and metaphors.

Director Ram has compared Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain to Birdman in a recent interaction. “Uttama Villain is the recent film I loved to bits. It is nothing less than Inarritu’s Birdman which won the Oscar award. The varied emotions, multiple layers and the performances deeply affected me,” said Ram.

Ram’s upcoming directorial Taramani has been under post-production for a long time. He has now moved on his next film ‘Savarakathi’ where he plays the lead role.
