Tamil film actors and actresses have planned to go for a rally on December 02 in Chennai to kill piracy. Tamil Film Association meeting was held on Sunday at a star hotel in Koyambedu, Chennai to discuss about the deadly piracy issue. Participants in this meeting includes Producer’s Association President Keyaar, Vice Presidents Muralidaran, Secretaries Siva, Gnanavel Raja, TV Thyagarajan, Treasurer Radha Krishnan, Actors Guild Secretary Radharavi, Board President Arulpathi, Actors Vishal, Parthiban and Srikanth. In the meeting, they discussed about the effects of Pirated VCD’s to film industry. Also resolutions were passed to fight the theatres which help in spreading piracy.
Important happening on the meeting was the resolutions. They are as follows: Big hero movies should be released only on some important festival days, To block access to download new movies, an appeal was likely to be done to State and Central government. They believe, due to big budget movies, small budget producers and distributors are getting affected. To regulate these decisions, a representative from each organization was also appointed. Finally they thanked TN’s Former Chief Minster Jayalalitha for bringing Gundar act into force to stop piracy. It was decided unanimously to conduct a rally in Chennai on 2 December to create awareness among people on the need to do away with piracy and submit a letter seeking tough action on it to the Chief Minister.
