Nandhan Movie Review

Actor Sasikumar has always inclined to content-driven characters in his erstwhile movies, and with ‘Nandhan’, he had already let the eyebrows raised with his new appearance, and the visual promos, furthermore escalated the anticipations. Nandhan is directed by Era Saravanan, and has a promising league of star-cast including Balaji Sakthivel, Shruthi, Samuthirakani, and many others. Ghibran has composed music for the film.

The story is set in the rural backdrops, and we come across Koozh Panna (Sasikumar), an innocent man, who is bound to the societal status imposed by the ruling class. As he sets out to tackle the obstacles and fight the odds, he encounters several complexities. Does he overcome all the hurdles and gets what he wants forms the crux of the story.

Firstly, it’s the tremendous changeover of Sasikumar that needs special mention. He has totally changed his body language and mannerisms, which surprises us in many places. To be precise, he has delivered an award-winning performance. Shruthi has given her flawless performance, and has suited the role neatly. Balaji Sakthivel has an arrogant antagonist has done a remarkable job as a performer. Both his character and Sasikumar keeps the intense drama going on without any hassles. Samuthirakani has little prominence, but his role has more value.

The film travels mainly on the emotions, and Ghibran’s musical score keeps enhancing them avidly. Cinematography is yet another highlighting trait of this film.

As with Pros, it’s Sasikumar’s show all the way and what strikes our attention next is the issue addressed by Era Saravanan.

Well, what could be predominantly noticeable on the flip side is lack of entertainment elements. This film isn’t definitely for the ones, looking up for these factors.

On the whole, ‘Nandhan’ is a hard-hitting drama that has lots of raw and realistic moments, which banks its trust on the theme and Sasikumar’s performance.
