The actual remuneration of actors Rajinikanth and Vijay for Jailer and Thalapathy 68
The emergence of social media platforms and the arrival of many amateur trade analysts have paved the way for lots of unconfirmed and baseless rumors about the remuneration of actors. To be precise, there have been talks doing rounds that actor Vijay is paid a whopping remuneration of Rs. 125Cr, and has already superseded actor Rajinikanth’s career graph.
However, when approaching some of the inside sources, particularly, the financiers, who are funding the producers of Tamil cinema, we get to know shocking revelations. According to their reports, the cinema industry cannot firmly fix a particular remuneration for any actor. It all depends on the film’s hit-and-flop results at the box office.
According to this paradigm, Superstar Rajinikanth has been offered a whopping remuneration of Rs. 80Cr for Jailer. It is worth mentioning that Rajinikanth will reduce the remuneration based on his previous film’s results. On the other hand, actor Vijay, who according to many media platforms is getting paid Rs. 125Cr is actually offered at Rs. 85Cr by AGS Entertainment for their next ‘Thalapathy 68’ directed by Venkat Prabhu. The actor has agreed to this remuneration as compensation for the loss incurred by the production house in ‘Bigil’. Similarly, Vijay will work with Thenandal Studio for the same remuneration to compensate for the ‘Mersal’ loss.
