Nerkonda Paarvai Music Review

Ajith Kumar’s magnum opus Nerkonda Paarvai is all set to make big roaring exhibition by next week. The film as known earlier is a remake of critically acclaimed Hindi movie Pink. Featuring Ajith Kumar and Shraddha Srinath in lead roles, the film has Vidya Balan and Kalki Koechlin appearing in cameo roles with Abhirami Venkatachalam, Rangaraj Pandey, Delhi Ganesh, Arjun Chidambaram and Adhik Ravichandran in important roles. With Yuvan Shankar Raja composing music, the film has four songs and we at Studio Flicks take you for a tour of musical analysis.

Agalaathey
Singers: Yuvan Shankar Raja, Prithvee
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay

To be honest, this is the instant attraction in the entire Nerkonda Paarvai album, which has indeed stolen everyone’s attention. It’s been a long time, Yuvan Shankar Raja delivered such a soulful melody, which gets furthermore amplified with the close-to-heart lyrics penned by Pa. Vijay. The song actually brings in a touch of reality, where a man sings out his praises for the lady, who has changed his life.

Vaanil Irul
Singer: Dhee
Lyrics: Uma Devi

The number actually doesn’t give any hopes for an immediate take, but it’s quite evident that it is a situational song that will surely have an impact with the full length version. The singer and music director had earlier teamed up for an impeccably outstanding peppy number ‘Rowdy Baby’ and now this is completely in contrast to what we are hearing. It’s such a soul stirring number, which keeps you so much addicted after a certain point of time.

Kaalam
Lyrics: Nagarjoon R, Yunohoo
Singer: Alisha Thomas, Yunohoo

It might take some time for you to sense the layers that Yuvan Shankar Raja has inserted into the song, but as the time brews, you’ll fall as prey to the EDM genre. It’s already a reigning choice for many as mobile ringtones, especially the interludes and preludes. It’s gonna be a heavy number treat for party animals on the floors.

Thee Mugam Dhaan
Lyrics: Pa. Vijay
Singer: Sathyan, Senthil Dass and Sarath Santhosh

For the ones, who have already watched ‘Pink’, this might actually turn up to be an enticing surprise. This song affirms that ‘Thala’ value will have more magical enthrallments on the screen. Yuvan scores extraordinary brownie points through this song, which is sure to become a treat for the fans of this matinee idol. Pa. Vijay has glorified the Thala image with an excellent spell of words and yes, the Sathyan-Senthil Dass-Sarath Santhosh trio has emerged as winners through their rendition.

Except for the song ‘Thee Mugam’, the other three tracks looks very much appropriate to the story and maybe, the other one will have its blast with the visuals for the fight sequence. Yuvan Shankar Raja always nails it flawlessly when it comes to composing music for content driven scripts. For the first time, he gets such an opportunity to work with Ajith Kumar, which indeed is a fresh experience to the fan following base of both the personalities.
