Thamizharasan Music Review
This is quite a special album for it marks the collaboration of two music directors, but in different avatars. While Vijay Antony is playing the lead role in this movie, it has musical score by none other than Maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja. The film is written and directed by Babu Yogeswaran and is produced by S. Kowsalya Rani. RD Rajashekar is handling cinematography for this movie, which has editing handled by Bhuvan Srinivasan.
Thamizhanoda Veeramellaam
Singer: Sid Sriram
Lyrics: ARP. Jayaraam
This is completely a unique experience to the listeners for it brings an unusual combination. So far, Sid Sriram has crooned only melodious numbers, but for the first time steps up for a folk number with some fast rhythmic tempo, which works out indeed. The trademark style of Maestro Ilayaraja is very much noticeable indeed.
Yaayum Yaayumey
Singers: V.V. Prasanna, Vibhavari Apte-Joshi
Lyrics: ARP. Jayaraam
A melodious style from Isaignani that will definitely soothe your senses for it definitely stands out to be a honey one. The flute works we hear mildly alongside the vocalisms followed by soft violins during the interludes are classical ones. It’s almost taking our journey back to the 80s golden period, where it has good clarity of lyrics and soft music too.
Paakkurappo Paakkurappo
Singers: Ilayaraja and Neeti Mohan
Lyricist: ARP. Jayaram
When it comes to composing romantic songs with some erotic touch, Maestro Ilayaraja excels well by bringing a Desi-Jazz touch especially when it comes to blending instrumentals with acapella. OMG! Ilayaraja’s voice is so divine and Neeti Mohan’s rendition from major to minor scales is lovely.
Neethaan En Kanavu
Singer: S.P. Balasubramaniam
Lyricist: ARP. Jayaram
SP Balasubramaniam’s chemistry with Maestro Ilayaraja doesn’t need any introduction and the magic is very well recreated here. The slow paced number is sure to enhance the emotional feel with the visuals and placement of songs.
Poruthadhu Podhum
Singer: KJ Yesudas
Lyrics: ARP. Jayaram
The song reminiscences of many of Ilayaraja-KJY erstwhile spell and it owns a unique touch that only the maestro alone can deliver. Much alike the previous number, it will surely elevate the situational placement with visuals.
Overall, Thamizharasan brings the signature style of Maestro Isaignani Ilayaraja, where it will definitely carve a niche with the listeners. All that they got to do is just don’t skip the tracks, but just feel the essence of each music slowly and they’ll surely infected with this musical dope.
