Bogan Music Review

D Imman’s musical album ‘Bogan’ featuring Jayam Ravi, Hansika Motwani and Arvind Swamy in lead roles is out. The album has nearly 10 tracks that includes a reprised version and three karaoke versions.

Damaalu Dumeelu
Singer: Anirudh
Lyrics: G. Rokesh

The album kick-starts on a celebratory note, which would definitely send the fans in theatres involved in high invigorations. But as far as the analysis is concerned, it slightly or much significantly gives the same impression of ‘Dandanakka’ from ‘Romeo Juliet’, which happened with the same combination of Imman, Anirudh and Rokesh. Even the instrumentals have its realms of such paradigms, but end of the day, it’s all about EXCITEMENTS & CELEBRATIONS from fans.

Senthoora
Singer: Luksimi Sivaneswaralingam
Lyrics: Thamarai

During the recent times, we have been constantly witnessing that D Imman has been indulged in heavy instrumentals orchestrated for melodious tracks. In fact, it has become his signature stroke and indeed works out some good results. Here, we find that he has made a fantabulous choice of picking Luksimi who goes for a full stretch of earnest efforts. Yes, it’s a song that will surely get huge score when compared to other songs.

Kooduvittu Koodu
Singer: Jyoti Nooran, Arvind Swamy
Lyrics: Madhan Karky

Guys are gonna love this number, especially for the lines uttered by Arvind Swamy and Jyoti Nooran gets it more sassy. But then, the lines like ‘B-O-G-AN – Bogan’ in English is a fallible part, where it sounds like a nursery rhyme that ruins a supposedly Chartbuster number. But then, the visuals and overpowering screen presence would get it more appealing.

Yaro Yaro Avan
Singer: Vijay Prakash
Lyrics: Aravi

This sounds like a song that is placed during the critical part of the movie and the lyrics are too hard to be grasped and so is the vocalism of Vijay Prakash as the instrumentals dominate a lot. It looks like a situation of bad and good getting over the clash.

Vaarai Vaarai
Singer: Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal
Lyrics: Madan Karky

Yet another sensual number in the album and Madan Karky seems to have strained up with his new avatar of penning such numbers. Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal try to evoke the sultry feel, which works out but reminiscences of one such similar styled number from AR Rahman’s composing. Nothing much highly attributing to our interests.

Senthoora (Reprise)
Singer: Inno Genga
Lyrics: Thamarai
English Lyrics: Inno Genga

When it comes to comparing the versions crooned by Luksimi and Inno Genga, we would feel this one to be more appealing. But D Imman could have used a mild pianos and just mild strings to make it more commendable.

Spooky Bogan

It gives an impression about the nature of ‘Bogan’ could be. The sound effects that come in between are highly appreciable, but the combination of whistles and chorus happening together doesn’t work out, maybe, with the film’s tempo and engrossing screenplay, it could get on well with the visuals.

Overall, the songs by D Imman are at the above average phase, where he has tried to show up his proficiency using more instrumentals. It works out for couple of songs while for the rest it gives a noisy impact, which could be partially eclipsed with the visuals, which are expected to be either emotional or sensual.
