Offering a mix of peppy volatile numbers and classic melodies, D Imman has been rigidly striving on the successful lanes in the world of Tamil music. On an incisive note, the musician makes sure at least couple of tracks haunts the towns in the state of mesmerizing celebrations. His recent album ‘Romeo Juliet’ proves to be ample evidence with a blend of colourful and innovative experiments.
It’s always a pleasure composing music for Rom-com genres and let’s see how far and best have the musical chords of Imman have been surpassingly struck here.
1. Dandanakka
Vocal: Anirudh Ravichander
Lyrics: G. Rokesh
As the entire town is studded with ‘Danga Maari’ mania, lyricist Rokesh throws up yet another celebratory moment compiling various speeches of TR and what adds more cherries to the iced cake is Anirudh crooning up the track in a much sassy way. Hear it once and you cannot stop going for it over and again. The impactful result has been quite evident from the time of this single track release.
2. Arakki
Vocal: Anthony Dasan
Lyrics: Madhan Karky
The successful combination of D Imman and Anthony Dasan has been illustrious with more tracks that includes ‘Indha Ponnungalae’ from Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. Apparently, with a much enhanced intonating adeptness, Anthony Dasan proceeds ahead to impress us. The result? A typical D Imman Kuthu number that resembles faintly of his previous compositions and regardless of these diminishing elements, ‘Love Failure’ Gaana numbers always hold up a prominent space and this could be one such track when viewed on the screens.
3. Thoovaanam
Vocals: Vishal Dadlani, Sunitha Sarathy
Lyrics: Thamarai
Bollywood music director Vishal Dadlani, the ravisher of his own kind with a magnetic voice that can touch any scales and octaves effortlessly, brings forth an enormous one. The song is sure to get your brains so much addicted that you wouldn’t get tired in spite of innumerable listening. Sunitha Saarathy might have not have more to score up in this track, but her reprised version of this same track that comes during the latter part of album is wonderful on pars. Not to miss the decorous orchestral instrumentals we hear during the interludes.
4. Idharkuthane Aasaipattai
Vocals: Vaikom Vijayalakshmi
Lyrics: Madhan Karky
Attempting on unconventional genre, Vaikom Vijayalakshmi shifts her paradigms in a different note. Albeit its less surprise, we always a special respect for this singer gifted with a prodigious voice, but Imman could have utilized this genius for some commendable numbers and style.
5. Romeo Romeo
Vocals: Vishal Dadlani, Hyde Karty
Lyrics: Madhan Karky
‘Party numbers’ and ‘Vishal Dadlani’ – They remain united and inseparable with the endless queue of huge exemplifications in the Bollywood charts. The track boasts of some high volatile beats and the mixing of sound is pretty groovy. With the colourful visuals, the song could have its own Midas-touch on the screens. ‘Romeo Juliet’ as the theme suggests as an amalgamation of sweet, energetic, mellisonant and melancholic numbers that would surely gain the extreme prominence aftermath the visual releases. For now, we prefer ‘Dandanakka’ and the duet number ‘Thoovanam’ that peaks to the top of list.
