A thin line story of two new generation youngsters Aadhi and Tara.Film shows how they accidentally meet, fall in love, live together and what happens to their career & love at the end, in a romantic way. Youths throughout the film.We can quote OK Kanmani as a prequel to Alaipayuthey.
Dulqer Salman is the perfect choice for Aadhi role. After ‘Mouna Ragham’ Karthick and ‘Alaipayuthey’ Maddy, its OKK Dulquer who is going to steel the heart of young girls. He looks dashing and delivers a wonderful performance. He emotes very well.Special kudos for for dubbing with his own voice in tamil.
Pretty Nithya Menon looks more beautiful through PC Sreeram’s lens.OKK is one of her finest performance so far.Her expressions are priceless. Dulquer-Nithya makes a cute pair.Mani shows the pair in screen for almost the entire 2 hours. Both are a big asset to the film.Best part is both of them speaks tamil fluently with no accent issues.
Prakashraj makes a good comeback to tamil films after a long time.As an old husband, he gives a wonderful performance. His wife character ‘Janani’ is played by Leela Samson. Both Prakashraj and Leela justifies their roles. Nothing much to talk about other characters. VJ Ramya and Kanika makes a sweet cameo.
A R Rahman’s magical music boost the film to next level, What a top class BGM. Each and every scene is supported by his music. Songs are already chartbusters. Picturization is apt. All the songs flows with the film. From start to end, its a complete ARR show.’ ‘Mental Manathil..’song has been captured in a shaky mode.Is that a new attempt? ‘Kaara aatakaram..’ suits well as the title song.
Technically the movie is brilliant because of P C Sreeram, colorful lighting and great camera angles which is visible in each and every frame.Cast looks more beautiful through his lens. ’Parandhu Sellava..’song picturization reminds ‘pacha niramae…’. Story is based on Mumbai backdrop. Couple of scenes have been shot in Ahamadebad n live locations.Kudos to the Art director as well..Editing is perfect and ends up the film duration with 2 hrs 20 minutes.
Ace Director Maniratnam, who was having a low graph in last 2 films is back with a bang. A single line story with a neat screenplay..He knows how to extract performance form the actors, which you can witness in OKKanmani. Starting title card was an innovative thought.Few scenes reminds Alaypayuthey film.
First half is more fun than the second half.
Dialogues are really good.Climax car sequence and interval block are noteworthy. There are no fights or twists in the film. He has brilliantly balanced the new generation and old generation love. OK ‘Kamani’ title is justified. U/A certificate for this movie???? puzzled!!!! OKK is a film which is going to be loved by the current generation.
