Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada Music Review

A long wait perhaps and let the introduction needn’t be a longer… Yes, it’s a power-packed combo of Gautham Vasudev Menon, AR Rahman and STR coming together after the grand success of an unbeatable Chartbuster like ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’. Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada consists of 5 tracks that belong to different genres.

Thalli Pogathey
Singers: Sid Sriram, Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam & Aparna Narayanan
Lyrics: Thamarai

Probably you don’t need a much analysis about this song. It has been haunting us unceasingly over the months from the time the first look teaser of this song was launched. Of course , the scintillating vocalism by Sid Sriram has been capturing our senses and this song gets bigger and better in accordance to the number of times you hear it.
Rasaali

Singers: Sathya Prakash & Shashaa Tirupati
Lyrics: Thamarai

This song in a much different dimension to what you heard in the previous track has been getting into your senses like slow poison. Naturally, the lyrical lines by Thamarai gives a clear impression that it’s a travel based song, where the chap on his bike with his beautiful girl on the back and rest is a journey of dreams and desires. It’s so much synonymous with the lyrical lines, where the lad and belle says that let this journey not end.

Showkali
Singers: Aditya Rao, Aaryan Dinesh Kanagaratnam & Sri Rascol
Lyrics: Vignesh Shivan

The boys will surely turn mad, madder and maddest with the track…. Especially if you’re someone from the lanes of Chennai and you’re someone addicted to the night life of this cosmopolitan city, where the boys become rulers of the roads, then this is going to be your lifetime song for there hasn’t been such a track till now of such eminence. High tempo, madness and fantasy – the absolute words to describe this track.

Avalum Naanum
Singers: AR Rahman and Vijay Yesudas

Much in contrast to the previous number, this one is a poetic sweet mellisonant track that will keep you addicted with its slow poison impact. The vocalizing substantiality of Vijay Yesudas is more appealing as AR Rahman keeps the musical accompaniment milder as he strongly seems to have believed that lyrics and voice deserve more attention than the musical score.

Indha Naal
Singer: Aditya Rao & Jonita Gandhi

It’s a soft western style oriented track that gets through different tempos by the latter point of time. It’s a show that completely belongs to Aditya Rao, Jonita and the entire band of instrumentalists, who are involved. This song would brew up in accordance to the visuals and we are sure Gautham Vasudev Menon is a visual magician, who can bring simple things more poetic through this visual picturing.

Overall verdict :

On the whole, AYM album offers blissful moments throughout and every track by AR Rahman has its own magical stroke as cited in the introductory part. Usually, ARR songs would take more time to get grasped, but very rarely some of his albums instantly get connected and AYM is one such illustration.
