After much confrontations and conflicts between the Chengalpattu exhibitors, SPI Cinemas and Thanu, it comes to be more immature to hear something. “It’s all personal at the end of the day,” said Kalaipuli S Thanu, producer of Vijay-Samantha-Amy Jackson starrer ‘Theri’, who addressed media channels last evening to break the silence on the film not releasing in Chengalpattu theatres.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Before few months, Mr. Panneer Selvam wanted Superstar Rajnikanth and Vijay to attend the marriage of his son. Although I assured that I would try my level best, it didn’t happen as both the actors were busy shooting their projects in abroad. It all turned seems to have got him infuriated and he gradually showed his unreasonable wrath with this gesture of creating a huge loss for Chengalpattu theatre owners. Moreover, I would like to affirm that the film has done a decent business across all the centres, both in Indian and Overseas areas. It’s disappointing to see that Chengalpattu theatre owners have been wedged as victims in accordance to the personal gains of Panneer Selvam…”
