Well, till now there hasn’t been any official information pertaining to the film of Mani Ratnam but it all looks like, there is something interesting lies beneath. It has been revealed through a poster on Twitter that Mani Ratnam’s upcoming film is titled as ‘Kurudhi Pookkal’ starring Karthi and Sai Pallavi in lead roles. While the Twitter bloggers are relentlessly publishing the first look poster of this film on their pages, some of them have stepped ahead and cited that it is loosely based on the novel ‘Sempre’, which has the same cover design as in first look poster. Finally, it was realized that it was a fan made poster and both these film and book have no relevance as on plot and similarities.
It looks like after years of ‘Dil Se’, Mani Ratnam is back with a love story interwoven with a complicated situation of terrorism and social issues. Moreover, with the shooting process delayed to take off, there are some buzzes sprouting up that Sai Pallavi of Premam fame might be walking out of the project. Meanwhile, AR Rahman has started composing music and P.C. Sriram is handling cinematography with Vairamuthu and his son Madan Karky penning lyrics.
It is learnt that Karthi plays a NRI, a pilot who on his return flight from New York to Chennai falls in love with a beautiful doctor.
